Laura Coverley

Hello, my name is Laura Coverley and I am the principal speech therapist, owner and director of Talking Toolbox North West. I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2016 (BSc Hons) and worked in the NHS for five years before setting up Talking Toolbox alongside my NHS role in 2021. In addition to my NHS work, I now also work out of Pitter Patter Clinic, Windle, St Helens which opened in April 2023.
I have a special interest and passion for supporting children and young people who stammer up to the age of 16. I have completed the following training courses with the Michael Palin Centre for stammering, an internationally recognised centre of excellence:
Palin Parent-Child Interaction (PCI) Therapy for Children under 7 Supporting 8-14s Integrating stammering management approaches Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
In 2022 I was involved in the Palin Stammering Therapy for School Children (Palin STSC 8-14s) feasibility study.
I am an Accredited Palin PCI therapist and have completed extensive training and assessment with the Michael Palin Centre.

When I am not working, I love to enjoy time outdoors with my husband and our two little boys. We love trips out for lunch, going to Chester Zoo and visiting National Trust places.
