Assessment before therapy

Children can have similar-sounding difficulties for different reasons, so therapy should not be selected from a short description alone. An initial assessment explores the sounds a child can make, patterns in their speech, how understandable they are and any wider speech, language or communication needs.

Parents receive a detailed report with findings, advice and recommended next steps.

Tailored and practical sessions

If therapy is recommended, activities are adapted to the child's age, attention and speech profile. Sessions are engaging and goal-focused, with manageable practice ideas for home. With consent, we can also liaise with school or nursery and an existing NHS therapist.
